Mémé et Mimi

by Céline Pelletier
France

“Let me introduce Eliane on the right called ‘Mémé’ and Jacqueline on the left called ‘Mimi’. Mémé made every Easter a Polish cake that we call ‘Babka’ even if she isn’t Polish but only for love and honor of my grand father Ceslaw Labendzki. She’s still drawing on my arms with her fingers when I ask her. Mimi makes the best ‘Lapin à la cuillère’ ever cooked with fantasy and creativity as the painter she is. She can be eccentric and dance flamenco perfectly. I love both of them so much and they are my inspiration for so many things. I am so grateful to share moments, laugh and tears, stories of the familly and love with them. That is part of what is the most precious in my life. With them I am still a child but also a women. They are so powerful, generous and open minded.” – Céline Pelletier
